i is 2.

We just got home. Russ and Dwayne were putting new tires on the black bike, Russ texted me to stop by on my way home, that Linda was fixing supper for all of us. Thank You Linda, it was delicious!

The bike.........I don't know how the bike rides, Russ will have to tell you that, or I will after we make a trip on it to Hooters tomorrow evening. Dwayne, thanks for helping Russ, or should I say thanks Russ for helping Dwayne.

Me, just taking it easy this past week, recooping from my hospital "vacation" last week. Yesterday, got a call from a fellow who was wanting a bike "tonight". He came out to test ride the CX650. He reallly likes it, but wouldn't you know, the right carb started overflowing while we talked there in the driveway! Took it apart, found nothing obviously wrong, parts look like new, will swap out float and needle today from the CX500. Also, yesterday, went to ride the CX500 and a throttle cable broke! New ones on their way in the mail. Need to swap out rear tire on a Wing today also.

I is 3 - My dad is here with us this week while re-couping from surgery. He ison the mend well for an 89 year old youngster. Won't make Hooter's tonight, Lynne and I are taking Dad to the Springfield Cardinals game. He is a huge baseball fan. Me, now I am more of a h(.)(.)ters fan these days.

Wow Mike! When it rains it pours, eh?

Monday, I rode the 76 to Hutchinson, KS, Geneseo, KS, and Lorraine, KS and back. 648 miles between 5:20 am and 6:40 pm. I spent a lot of time in Hutch as I made a wrong turn and it took me awhile to find the right cemetery. After that it was smooth sailing to Lorraine to decorate graves there. Then on to Geneseo to decorate the last of the graves there. Then, I stopped in El Dorado, KS on the way back for 20 minutes to stretch out the legs a few minutes. I also spent about an hour in Yates Center, KS visiting with my sister and her husband. It was a great day for a ride other than the wind! When riding with the wind at 75-80, the bike ran a bit warm. It edged up to 210 deg, so backed it off a little. It went down to 195-200 and pretty much stayed there. Otherwise, the 76 ran beautifully all day. I bucked a lot of head winds and got a low of 32 mpg and a high of 36 mpg. I was also generally cruising above the speed limit a little.

We had some folks from the Forum out your way, visiting Big Brutus. They too mentioned it was work, bucking the WIND. Other than that, weather was beautiful this past weekend.
Found the problem with the CX650 carb today. Took parts from the 500 and with an inspection mirror, was looking to see if the float valve seats were of the same number for each bike. Saw up in the valve seat a piece of black rubber stuck to the wall of the 1/4"hole. Appears to have been part of a gasket from somewhere. Picked it out, reassembled carb, runs without overflowing!
Now, hope Tom is still interested and will be back tonight. I need to get rid of stuff, but wouldn't you know it, came home this morning with another set of old Wing hard bags(Bates) with chrome rails, for $25. Fellow threw in a Vetter 3 fairing for free. I'll add it to the collection in the shed.
