Is the front going to push any birds this way?

Went out this morning for a little while and only saw about a dozen birds and a lone goose. Are the birds going to start using the lake anytime soon? I thought that hunting ahead of the cold weather I might see a few more than I did. Anyway, there is always next time. Anyone else doing any good?

Talked to a young man last saturday that had been killing a lot of mallards in cornfields. I haven't been seeing much except geese.
I'm afraid that all the coming snow cover will keep the ducks moving south to find feed instead of stopping here to become gumbo.

We have been knocking the goose snot out of them over here in Eastern Ok. This morning I saw more ducks and geese than I have seen in 10 years. Believe it or not we just got in and had 21 ducks off of a 15 acre pond. Probably had 200 birds come in. Had lots of fun but froze to death. My sons think they are invincible. I sat by the heater. I'm a wuss they say but I was warm and didn't have to wade out and get the decoy's. Wisdom with age. Ha Ha

I was at Stockton this mornin also and only saw about 25 birds. Partner shot one diver that hit the water and dove and we never saw it again. I am hoping the cold weather will get them off the ponds and to the lake.

Good for you, BB! I'm glad someone is on 'em. I have yet to see a duck on Spring River here at home.

Got a mallard and goldeneye this morning at Stockton. Kinda difficult to find a place to launch. Saw maybe 100 birds.

I found a place out of the wind on Saturday and only had a few look at our spread. I saw less than a 100 for sure. I still can't manage to find any birds yet. Perhaps after the ponds freeze up solid here in a few days traffic will pick up on the lake?

Went again this morning with my son and a buddy and his son and got three assorted divers. I don't think we saw a puddle duck. Did see about 75 or 100 Canadas, None would work though.

The cove at 39 bridge over son's creek is more ice than water.

Unfortunately, I think it is going to start thawing some today.
