It wasn't as tough as some across-the-valley shots I have seen, but with no rest it wasn't bad. I got another couple of weeks before the alpha females den up and deliver their pups, so I might try to get out and call one or two before I put the rifles away for the summer.

Hey, a good shot is a good shot, no matter the distance. If I lived where you do, I GUARANTEE i'd be out to give it another go before summer. Guaranteed. Saint Louis isn't really a good place to hunt coyotes, although some of the other hunting is good....(hunting for parking spots)
You ought to get to know Guvner.....he knows people who know people who have access to certain properties where coyotes are probably not welcome. Ya never know what a small service to the landowner might lead to when November rolls around..........
