fall walleye (no replies)

Hey guys I have never fished the fall before. This year I have made it my goal to learn to catch walleye in the fall. I live and fish in nebraska. We fish man made lakes ranging from 2,200 acres upto like 13,000 I believe. The main lakes I fish don't have much structure to them. Mostly big open flats. They do have some points and drop offs and stuff. They range from 2-35 ft deep. How would you guys go about targeting them? Where would you look for them at? What tactics are good? Would you look for them in the same spots as where we catch them in the spring? Thanks for the help guys.

Just to let you all know what is going on. I'm the moderator now and reviewing any others who were. (22 replies)

Go check out http://www.findmall.com and you can see almost the same exact same site with all of the same exact permissions, abilities to post pictures and comments in a world class amount of traffic that grows and grows. I don't like everyone that posts there but I don't micro manage it either.

If you prefer a site that has a guy that wants to control everything then this site is probably not for you. If you just like to walleye fish the site will be perfect for newbies and regulars. On the other site one of the things i don't tolerate is forum police who don't like newbies asking a question that may have been asked before. Newbies do that. One of my pet peeves and probably the only rule I really enforce. Don't chase a newbie off by being a know it all forum policeman.

In essence I'm going to be the moderator of this forum instead of CW as he really doesn't walleye fish any longer and is devoting his energies to getting a rider forum going. (This isn't a gang with colors or anything like that.) He's pretty much done with posting on this forum.

He is still the site administrator and if you have a technical problem or just an issue of any type please contact him or me if he's not answering. If someone comes forward that walleye fishes and wants to moderate this forum please contact me. Suggestions are welcome. If the former moderators are still interested please contact me.

The only other thing I don't allow is people advertising their own selections of a different walleye or fishing forum. If you want to grow a site please don't try to do it on the backs of others.

One other note. Can the guys who own Mid-South contact me as to the need of a banner on here.

I'll look on here later to see if anyone has any questions. If you have a new interest forum like the long ago popular dentistry forum let me know.. :)

Thanks... Guvner..

I usually use jig & crawler combo & don't bottom bounce alot. I have hand tied all my spinner rigs, but only use them when I'm in Canada, and use a shorter snell-about 36 inches. I tried my spinner rigs this weekend & had no bites, but went through the same area & caught fish on the jig combo. In the clear water are my rigs to short?
